NZ Visitor Visa moves to enhanced Immigration Online from 24 September 2026

Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has announced an important change: from 24 September 2026, most new Visitor Visa applications will need to be created and submitted through the enhanced Immigration Online system — new applications will no longer open on the old system.

Two dates to note:

• 24/09/2026: new Visitor Visa applications are submitted through the new online system.
• 08/10/2026: remaining drafts on the old system will be deleted. If you have not submitted in time, you will need to start a new application on the new system.

Applications already submitted on the old system will continue to be processed as normal. Applicants do not need to re-apply.

This is part of New Zealand’s wider move to digital visa processing. If you or a family member are preparing a visitor / tourism visa, it helps to get familiar with Immigration Online early so you are not caught out when these dates arrive.
