Vietnam Working Holiday — prepare before the quota opens

Each year New Zealand allocates only 200 Working Holiday places for Vietnamese citizens. Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has confirmed that for 2026 applications open at 10:00 NZDT on 3 November 2026. Places usually fill quickly, so getting documents ready before opening day matters.

A few useful points:

• You must be aged 18–30 and must not have held a New Zealand Working Holiday visa before (even if you never used it).
• You need a bachelor’s degree (at least three years of full-time study) and English evidence equivalent to IELTS 4.5.
• Show at least NZD $4,200 for living costs, health insurance for your stay, and plans to leave New Zealand when the visa ends.
• The visa allows up to 12 months: holiday, temporary work (no more than three months with one employer), and study or training up to six months; permanent work is not allowed and you do not need a job offer to apply.
